Be community-informed.

We are an MWBE/DBE-certified design firm that leads research and public engagement in transportation, economic development, and behavioral study projects. With offices in New York City and New Jersey, our expertise is in cultural competency, mixed methods research in public engagement, and qualitative data analysis.

Founded in 2018 as a tech startup, with our technology launching in 2020, we focus on impactful services that challenge the status quo of design. Our work and technology have been featured in Business Insider, Crain's NY, GovTech, and Next Cities. Since our founding in 2018, we have collaborated with public and private sector institutions on more than 50 studies, aiming to leverage community feedback to inform design outcomes.

Our current business lines are transportation (transit, planning, mobility) and economic research (workforce development & public programs). Our expertise in thought leadership is in cultural competency, mixed methods research, and qualitative data analysis across these sectors.

Since our inception, the co:census team has supported more than fifty public engagement projects, transportation plans, and research studies nationwide. Our key projects led and supported by co:census includes: San Francisco County Transportation Authority’s Congestion Pricing Study (2020), City of Kansas City Digital Inclusion Program (2020), the Connecticut Department of Transportation Equity Education Programming (2021-2024), Habitat for Humanity Workforce Development Research Study (2022), Ford Mobility’s Paratransit Innovation Study (2022), City of Lynn’s Comprehensive Plan (2023), OhioHealth Grant Medical Center Masterplan (2023), and MBTA’s Design Dialogues Initiative (2024).
